As we come into the busy summer months and footfall in the area increases. It is essential that details of the location of any reported incidents are reported as clear as possible so that we can get to where we need to be to assist quicker and get to where we need to be more accurately. 

How can you make the location more accurate? 

What3Words is a simple tool that can help us find people and incidents more accurately. 

What3Words have divided the world into 3m x 3m squares and assigned each square with a unique combination of three words. By providing your What3Words address when contacting emergency services, you can pinpoint an exact location, even in the most rural areas, middle of the moors, coastlines, or places without a clear postal address. 

We encourage members of the public to download the free What3Words app and familiarise themselves with how it works. In an emergency, sharing the three word location could help emergency services reach you faster.
